Thank you for sharing about yourself! Reading about the people behind the scenes is so fun and interesting. I'm so curious about what it's like to live next to a cheese factory; does it smell like cheese all the time??
It’s actually the American Legion. I’m not sure what all they do, but they were originally support organizations for returning military veterans. The ones in our area had bars and often hosted steak feeds or fish fries that were open to everyone.
No, not a member, not a veteran, and don't even know much about them. Anything freemasonry is a big nope from me. I only know them as places with a very 60s vibe that occasionally host classic Midwestern-type meals for the public. I don't know how prevalent they are anymore? 20 years ago they seemed to be dying out.

Now that I think about it, I don't remember any smell at all outside! The retail part of the factory had a nice salty scent.
"steak feed at the Legion"
What is the Legion? Is that Freemasonry?

Are you a member? I did a search on their website. Looks like they are. Some of their lodges are Masonic temples. It's dangerous stuff.
